Dr. Carol Ash
Chief Medical Officer, RWJ Barnabas Health Rahway

Carol Ash, DO, MHCDS is a board-certified general internist, fellowship-trained pulmonary, and critical care and sleep medicine specialist with more than 20 years' experience in clinical medicine. She is a graduate of Seton Hall University, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ). She obtained an MBA at University of Massachusetts Amherst, and fellowship status with the American College of Healthcare Executives. She Is a 2017 graduate of Dartmouth's Master of Health Care Delivery Science (MHCDS) program, which offers advanced training in healthcare leadership, teamwork, finance, and operations.
In her current role as Chief Medical Officer of RWJ Barnabas Health Rahway she is helping the organization to align and launch new models for healthcare delivery that will address resource utilization, improve health outcomes, and reduce health costs. Savings from improved healthcare operations can be reinvested in our community. Beyond the economics there is increasing awareness that healthcare executives must function as leaders outside of the hospital and facilitate engagement and alignment with community partners to build cross sector networks. The CMO role presents a unique opportunity to launch a transformation journey from a hospital microsystem to influence factors that will eventually lead to a strengthened families and communities.
Dr. Ash has been interviewed on both television and radio, including The Today Show, Good Morning America, CNN, The Weather Channel, MSNBC, Fox's Fox and Friends, CBS Early Show and more. She has been a featured speaker at national business sponsored events including engagements for the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), the International Operators Convention (IOC), and Corporate Aviation Safety Stand-down (CASS).
