Blaize Connelly-Duggan

Blaize is a visionary healthcare executive with a proven track record and unparalleled experience in integrative medicine and substance abuse treatment. His decade long quest to provide natural solutions to curb the opioid epidemic led him into the medical cannabis industry. In 2014, he co-founded Maryland Wellness Access (now Remedy) one of the first licensed medical cannabis dispensaries in Maryland. Since opening their doors in December 2017, Remedy has provided personalized compassionate care to over 4,000 registered medical cannabis patients.

Prior to founding Remedy, Blaize served as Chief Executive Officer of Maryland Community Health Initiatives (MDCHI), one of the first state licensed behavioral health centers to use acupuncture, herbal medicine, and mind-body techniques to treat opiate addiction. Under his leadership, MDCHI became one of the largest and most respected substance abuse programs in Maryland, providing care to more than 5,000 patients annually. A pioneer in the field of integrative recovery, his innovative approaches have been recognized by the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Previously, as Vice President at Maryland University of Integrative Medicine, Blaize guided the leading academic institution in the United States focused on holistic and integrative medicine through a period of dramatic growth and success. During this time the school received regional accreditation from Middle States and completed the acquisition and development of two new campuses (including Dr. James Duke's Green Farmacy) and the launch of the first accredited Master of Science in Botanical Healing and the first teaching dispensary dedicated to the study of clinical herbalism. As Vice President, Blaize directed a network of Wellness and Natural Care Centers throughout the State where he managed teams of acupuncturists, clinical herbalists, and other holistic practitioners. During this period, Blaize was instrumental in developing strategic partnerships with renowned institutions including University of Maryland, Johns Hopkins University, University of Pennsylvania, and Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Blaize is a lifelong resident of Columbia, MD. He holds a BS in Health and Human Performance from the University of Maryland, School Of Public Health and an MBA from The University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business.
